Before & After
I've been going to Bloom Health & Fitness for about 7 years now but it wasn't until about 2 years ago is when I really kicked it into gear. I've always been a yo-yo type of girl, lose weight one minute and then back to the same weight as before and plus some. I want to set a good example for my children, I don't want them to growing up learning my habits of overeating and not exercising. Bob and staff made it a comfortable place to go. Bob made out routines for me, and made sure I knew how to do them. I guess I did so well that, I made member of the month. It's always nice to go to Bloom Health & Fitness someone is always there to greet you and tell you "Have a Great Workout" and there to say Good-Bye "See You Tomorrow Janelle" you don't get that anywhere else. I love going there so much that, I work there now as a Spinning Instructor. I feel better about myself, and I feel that I am about to keep the weight off. Thank You Bloom Health & Fitness!!

Following diets was never easy for me, nor was I ever that interested in exercising. I would lose some weight and then gain back double, eating for convenience and being unhealthy in general with virtually no exercise at all. After college I was at my heaviest weight of 273 lbs and fitting comfortably in a size 26. I decided to join a gym and attempt dieting again. To be honest, I did not think I would stick to the routine, I never had before, and truthfully I was lazy and hated to do anything physical. Why I signed my gym contract with such little motivation is unknown to me, but the best decision I have ever made.
Bloom Health & Fitness was the perfect gym. I went to many health clubs to see how they operated, but Bloom Health & Fitness was what I was looking for. I utilized a personal trainer who kept me motivated and determined to lose weight. The staff in general was always so nice and gave such enthusiasm to my weight loss success. In January i joined the Biggest Loser competition which was a great experience and opportunity for other people losing weight to get together and support each other. The support, motivation and determination of the staff at Bloom Health & Fitness is what kept me going, and continues to keep me going for over a year now.
After having a personal trainer for a year, doing regular cardio workouts and having a healthy diet, I was able to successfully lose more than 110 lbs in 13 months. I went from a size 26 to an 8 and I feel great! Never give up on getting healthy, it can be obtained. Weight loss might seem like it comes slowly, and it does, however the end result is better than you can imagine!

I initially joined Bloom Health & Fitness in hopes of losing weight for my sister's wedding. I struggled with my weight for years and like so many others I lived in a cycle of over-eating and guilt. I was determined to lose my weight in a healthy way and so with the support of my sister I started an exercise program at the gym. I was under the impression that if I exercised I could still eat whatever I wanted and the pounds would just melt off like butter... well, I was wrong.
After 4 months and only 10 lbs. lost I was very frustrated with my results. I decided to enter the "Biggest Loser Contest" in December and enlist the help of a personal trainer. I cannot begin to express how this decision changed my life. My trainer has taught me the value of proper nutrition and that you don't need to starve yourself to lose weight. He has been such a source of encouragement to me throughout this journey and has so far helped me lose almost 70 pounds. I know that I am the one doing the hard work in the gym and in the kitchen, but he has been such an integral part of this experience for me. I feel like a new person now... emotionally and physically. Joining Bloom Health & Fitness and getting a personal trainer was the best decision I ever made.

After watching the scale bounce up and down more times than I like to think about, I decided (with more than a little encouragement from my doctor) that this was the time that I was going to take control of my weight. How? Easy: Bloom Health & Fitness. My wife has been going there for five years with much success. The first step for me was signing up for the "Biggest Loser" contest, a popular program held in January. With an incredible amount of support from Bob, his outstanding staff at Bloom Health & Fitness, my family and friends, and even the other competitors in the program I was able to stay motivated. Working hard I lost 80 pounds in just 15 weeks! The next challenge would be keeping the weight off. The gym's "FITNESS" contest was designed to help me do just that, so I signed up immediately. It worked! I have kept off all 80 pounds and I look forward to the next "Biggest Loser" contest to reach my goal and take off the final 30 pounds. Thank you, Bloom Health & Fitness!

I've lost over 70 lbs., six inches off my waist and my body fat has reduced significantly. Am I proud of myself? Not really!! If it wasn't for the encouragement and inspiration of the staff at Bloom Health & Fitness I'm sure I would still be promising myself to start that weight loss program tomorrow. Their development and monitoring of a personalized exercise plan for me deserves all the credit. Without their encouragement and support I would probably still be at Square One. I still have a long way to go and I hope and pray I can develop the independent, personal strength to continue my program without having to depend so much on the staff at Bloom Health & Fitness.
If my scenario has some similarities to yours, I challenge and encourage you to stop by the club and discuss your situation. Don't cop out with such excuses as "my situation is different", "I've tried everything", etc. Just give Bob and his staff a chance. The equipment and all other physical aspects of the facility are "first class" but the staff and their personal touch are the most important factor.

In February 2005, I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. I quit breathing 248 times in less than eight hours. My doctor ordered me a c-pap breathing machine to be delivered immediately. She told me I had severe sleep apnea and I needed a c-pap breathing machine to assist me with my breathing. If I did not use this machine I could die at any time. She also said this is not a disease, it is a condition. After a CAT scan, my doctor told me I needed sinus surgery and my deviated septum fixed. She could not do any of that until I lost some weight. She wanted me to lost 1/2 to 3/4 pounds a week. In two years with a little exercise, eating and drinking the proper food, I could go back and be tested again for sleep apnea.
In March 21, 2005 I joined Bloom Health & Fitness. I thought at 310 pounds I was too heavy and out of shape to exercise. Bob Groshek said, "Tell us what your goal is and we will write a program for you and show you how to get there." I started lifting weights, doing cardio, and abdominal work. The staff at Bloom Health & Fitness is 100% positive and supportive of each and every member achieving their goal.
In 10 months I lost 95 pounds and 10 inches off my waist. When I started at the gym, it was hard for me to walk three mph at an 8 degree incline for 30 minutes. Now I can jog up a 15 degree incline for an hour. Oh, by the way, one year after I joined the gym, I went back for another sleep study. I am proud to say I passed. No more sleep apnea. I am in better shape than I was when I was married at 23. I am 49 and I will be in better shape when I am 50. If I can do this, anyone can. It is a shame it took a doctor telling me I could die tomorrow to get me here! But, thank God she did and thank God for Bob and the great staff at Bloom Health & Fitness.

I have been on every diet out there and have managed to remain extremely overweight all my life. I had never been successful at maintaining any type of weight loss until now. By combining healthy good choices and an individualized exercise plan I have been successful in achieving an 85 pound weight loss and have gone down nine clothing sizes over the past year. The skilled staff at Bloom Health & Fitness wanted to know my personal goals and through a personalized exercise plan tailored to meet my needs, have encouraged and motivated me to be a winner. I joined Bloom Health & Fitness about 9 or 10 years ago and my goal was to lose weight, look good, and keep it off by maintaining it. I did that until last year in 2008, when in June I had a lower back injury, which was an old one when I was in my 20's, and a shoulder injury. I couldn't do much of anything because everything I tried at the gym irritated my back or shoulder. So I stopped going for at least 6 months until they healed. In that time I had put on 40 - 50 pounds even though I was watching what I was eating. I did not have anything to burn it off. So needless to say I was really disgusted and frustrated and very unhappy looking in the mirror watching my body grow. It was not a pretty sight.
My lower back injury was healed and my shoulder was almost healed so I started back and my trainer set me up with a new workout in late December early January 2009 and that was when I was asked to be on a team for the "BIGGEST LOSER CONTEST". It was perfect timing because now was my chance to focus and concentrate on getting my weight back off.
My workout consisted of three days of weights and cardio and two days of just cardio. I followed my workout faithfully and took my weekends off. I had to change my eating also. I ate every three hours starting at breakfast and my last meal before 6 o'clock. I gave up breads, pasta, potatoes, snacks and high sodium foods. I also gave up ice tea, chocolate milk which was my weakness and soda. I went to eating oatmeal, chicken, fish, salad, and lots of green vegetables. I also made sure I got my water content in for the day. And it worked because each weigh in I lost. When I lost I would treat myself to something special to eat. you need to do that for yourself and it still worked. By the end of the contest I had lost 42.6 lbs. and was the top female winner.
Anyone can lose weight if you put your mind to it and do it for yourself. I had family and friends who were a big help encouraging me. I did it even with injury. Bloom Health and Fitness is an awesome club and they help anyone. So as of today as I keep focusing and now a member of Bloom Health and Fitness Staff I have lost a total of 60 lbs. and in a size 8. I will not go back to that before picture. Thank you Bloom Health & Fitness!!
