- Get involved in various programs. The more variety, the less boredom.
- Realize its 100% mental. Keep your health in the front of your mind and stay focused.
- Get a PFE (Personal Fitness Evaluation). Find out what your fitness base level is. You'll be thankful you did when your 3‐month re‐evaluation comes around.
- Get an exercise program set up for yourself. You'll stick with it much longer if you have something structured to follow.
- Stay focused and look long term. Don't expect things to happen overnight. It's a process. It's not all about losing weight; it's about feeling good!!!
- Talk to other members that have been successful. They would love to give you advice on how they got results.
- Try to exercise with friends, family or co‐workers. You'll be committed for a much longer period of time.
- Make exercise a part of your day. Just like taking a shower each day. Always block out part of your day for exercise. Just like an important meeting you have.
- Have a positive attitude and try to make exercise fun!!!

- Don't go through the motions by just coming in and doing whatever you feel like that day. Get a structured program so you know each time you come in exactly what you will be doing.
- Don't be afraid to ask questions. We're here to help you.
- Don't get in the habit of skipping a day here and there. They add up and it's easy to fall out of the habit and so hard to get restarted.
- Don't go on a strict diet. They don't work. Just eat healthy and watch your portions.
- Don't get frustrated if you do not see the scale move. Muscle does weigh more than fat. Be concerned about inches and % body fat.
- Don't be a quitter. If you feel you're stuck in a rut and not getting anywhere, make an appointment with a trainer and talk over your frustrations. We can come up with a solution together.
- Don't make excuses. There are a million of them. Only YOU can make it happen!!!
